January of 2004 was the month I met one of my greatest friends. I still remember it like it was yesterday... my first day of beauty school at Staceys Hands of Champions beauty college. There were only a few of us who started on the same day... we were all a bit nervous and didn't really know anybody. I sat next to this girl from Layton, Jannae. When it came time for lunch we decided to head across the parking lot to the Newgate Mall for some Chick-fil-A together. We made small talk and had plenty of those "awkward" silences, ha ha! At that time I had no idea what great friends we would become!! Pretty much from the first day on we were inseperable. We've had sooo many fun and crazy adventures the past 7 years, both while in beauty school and out. I love her and her family like they are my own! She married just a couple weeks before Cody and I and moved to Cali a few years ago where her family business is. She's had two little boys, Linken and Cooper since she's been gone and they are the CUTEST! I wish we got to spend more time together but almost everytime she's in town we try to meet up for lunch or dinner. Today I was so happy to be able to have lunch with her at the Olive Garden (yum) before her cute family heads back to Cali on Sunday. One of these days I WILL make it out there to visit her! I'm so thankful for our friendship and for the fact that it doesn't matter how long we go without talking or seeing each other, we always pick right back up where we left off.

She brought little Cooper with her today and it was the first time I got to see him in person :( but he sure is a cute, happy baby! Thanks for lunch, I love you fluzy!!!

(Fluzy is both our nicknames that we use for each other.. it started somewhere back in beauty school and who knows where we came up with it?? Funny thing is.. at the time neither one of us knew what it meant! Now that we do though we still use it :) Oh... those were the days!)

OuR hOliDaY fUn!!

Our long holiday weekend started on Friday the 23rd. I spent the whole day baking sugar cookies with my mom and Hailee. It's a tradition we've done for as long as I can remember! As usual, we had a blast together!

Christmas Eve was spent at my moms this year where we decided to do a soup potluck. It was fun to see what everyone came up with (Cody and I made a tortilla soup that was to DIE for) and besides soup we also had Great Harvest bread bowls, plenty of appetizers and munchies, and very delicious peppermint brownies my mom made for dessert. In the past my siblings and I have always drawn out names (since there are 7 of us) but last year and this year we changed things up a bit. We've started doing gift cards and playing the game where you can steal them. It's quite the fun change! Cody ended up with a visa gift card and I with a movie gift card.. definitely ones we will be using!! It's always fun to have everyone together. Since we were all there (besides Chase and Amber who came up the day after Christmas from St. George) we decided to give my mom her present that we had all gone in on together. We got her the "O Jerusalem" picture from Deseret Book and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It looks so pretty hanging in her family room and she loves it! She also gave us our gifts that night. Funny lady gave Cody and I BYU and UTAH lawn chairs that we love and also a BYU hoodie for Cody and awesome new workout clothes for me. Loved it mom, thank you!! After we leave her house every year we head over to Codys moms to hang out and finish the night chilling with her and Brett before we go home to bed.

Christmas morning usually starts around 4am at the Gift house but after begging Cody to sleep in we got to wake up at 6 instead. I can handle that! We were so very blessed this year. Cody is really the sweetest.. he knows JUST what I love and picks up on all my little hints all year long :) For someone who hates shopping so much, he sure does a GREAT job!

Some of my presents: Utah bag, a new phone that I LOVE, all my fav perfumes and lotions, new running shoes that might just be my FAV gift of all, a cute robe and slippers, VS yoga pants (I have a bit of an addiction) and the cutest VS sweats, a new pair of Rock Revivals (my favorite jeans), scarfs and lot's of gift cards to my favorite places and other random things.

Some of Codys presents: He got lot's of clothes this year cause he ALWAYS needs them, a few pairs of his favorite sweats with new slippers, cologne, some new Hurley shoes, beanies and a belt, Call of Duty for his Playstation 3, new snowboarding goggles and lot's of random little things. But the BEST present of all this year was his new fishing boat! Since I obviously couldn't wrap that I wrapped a picture of it and had it parked in his moms garage for when we went over there. He seriously about DIED when he opened that picture. All he talks about now is taking his boat out to fish.. (he's got a few months to wait, haha)!

He got spoiled with a new blanket, TONS of treats and toys, a new collar and leash and even more toys and treats from his Grandmas!

HAPPY BOY!

After we opened gifts, Cody couldn't wait any longer to go see his new toy so we went over to his moms for breakfast and to open more presents. We were spoiled again with snowboarding season passes but where is the dang SNOW?! Also new dishes, money and other things. Throughout the day we also ended up with more money from my dad, his dad and our Grandmas. Cody got a Sportsmans Warehouse gift card that he can't wait to use for new fishing/boat stuff, a very cute Affliction shirt and I got a beautiful new purple pea coat and a black christian audigier purse. Thank you everyone for everything! We are so blessed.

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and remembered the true meaning of the holiday. We are so thankful for our loved ones and the best part of the day was giving out our gifts to our families. We love you all!!!

The week after was spent relaxing and having fun. We went and saw "Warhorse" one day (has anyone seen it)?? I LOVED it but bawled pretty much the whole movie. Thursday my mom and I got to spend the night in Price in Hailees dorm room to watch her play Thursday night and Friday afternoon. I do not know how anyone can live in a dorm! The walls are so thin, we were up until about 2 in the morning listening to people running up and down the halls laughing and screaming. Hailee says you get used to it eventually but oh man, definitely not the best nights sleep ha ha! I still had so much fun though... it was quite the experience! I love being with my sister and mom!!

Friday when I got home Cody and I went to Wendover just the two of us and had a BLAST! (Cody wanted to "celebrate" with his fantasy football winnings! He came in first with easily the best record. I can't tell you how much fun it was cheering on all his players every week. Proud of my babe for kicking butt!!) I lost all my money but Cody was the BIG winner of the night. We came home with more than we took and that's always a plus!

We spent New Years with Austin and Devre and her cute parents at their house. It was a blast, we enjoyed crab legs, spinach dip and all kinds of fondue! I made homemade oreo cookies for dessert and surprisingly we made it to midnight! We played the Wii and watched the ball drop with Ryan Seacrest. After more visiting and lots of laughs we ended the night. It was SUCH a FUN night!! Thank you two for everything, we always have SO much fun with you! Love you guys!!

2o11 was great and we're looking forward to what 2o12 is going to bring us!!

friday night I went with hailee all the way down to skyline to watch the syracuse titans play. it's their only game over the break that hailee will be home to see, so being the nice sister I am I agreed to go down there with her ;) it was fun and of course, they won. wouldn't expect anything less! way weird to watch them though without her playing. she's definitely their biggest fan!

saturday I needed to bake some things for codys family christmas party sunday so naturally I called my mama to help :)

my mother is amazing.. she did most the hard work while hailee and I did the easy stuff. we jammed out the whole time to my NOW christmas cd and of course we had to sample everything we made.

after the party cody and I decided we wanted to go to christmas village. so we bundled up, got us some hot chocolate and headed downtown. it wasn't too busy and we loved looking at all the lights!

last night was my work christmas party. can I just tell you how much I l.o.v.e. working for westside medical! technically I'm employed under "ericksen research & development" but we work along side with westside and are all one big family. I started over 3 years ago here and am so so grateful for this awesome job. I get to work with the coolest people and I love what I do.. research is such an interesting field. I feel so blessed that way. all of us study girls (which is only 7) decided this year to do a little something special for dr ericksen (our boss and also the owner of westside medical) considering everything he does for all of us. he really is the best boss to work for.

we all pitched in to give him this basket full of byu stuff and all his favorite books and treats. (it was not easy for me, ha ha! I even joked with him that he knows it would be much cooler if it were utah stuff)! we love to tease each other all year long about byu-utah. he told me I could borrow his blanket and heating bean bags if I want... no thanks.. ha! notice he is not smiling in this picture but he did have a mouthful of treats, he really is happy :) he loved it!

this was the first year we branched off and had our own christmas party instead of attending westsides. it was weird to not be with the whole big group but since our research team is growing every year it's time for us to start doing our own. dr e treated all of us and our spouses to a nice dinner at tepanyaki. it was sooo much fun just to chit-chat with our group and enjoy each others company in a smaller setting.

What another FUN filled weekend we had! Friday was Codys work party down at the South Towne Expo Center. Every year they work out a deal with the Hyatt Summerfield Suites just down the road from the Expo Center for anyone who wants to spend the night after the party. (Of course we always take advantage of a practically free night together!) We booked our room in advance and headed down Friday to check in and get ready for the party. Our room was SO nice, we just love staying there. The party consisted of a very yummy catered dinner of prime rib, salmon, delicious salads and divine desserts. After dinner it was time for awards. Cody has been waiting for this award for what seems like forever.. his 5 year award (although he's actually about 2 months shy of 6 years). I was so proud to see him go up on stage to receive this award. Way to go babe, you're the BEST!! You also looked pretty darn handsome up there :) Along with the plaque he also got a pretty sweet belt buckle and a $50 visa card. He's so cute.

I joked with him that now we're going to have to buy him some wranglers to wear that belt buckle with, ha ha! Saturday it was so nice to sleep in a bit and once we were up and ready we got to have a nice breakfast together. Cody had to go into work for a few hours so instead of driving all the way home, he dropped me off at the Expo Center again so I could go to the "What a Woman Wants" show while he went to work. I've never been before and it was actually pretty cute! I had fun (even by myself) just browsing all the booths and looking at all the cute things they had. After a couple hours there my mom picked me up to head down to Price to watch Hailee play. It was so fun to go back down (haven't been since we moved her there) and to get to see her play on their home court. They won and she played great, scoring 12 points for the lady eagles! Great job sis!! After the game, we went to dinner at the same mexican place we ate at the last time we were there. SO good!! She got to come home that night and doesn't have to go back until the 28th, whoo hoo! I'm so excited to have her here with us for a couple weeks. I rode back with Hai and we jammed out the whole way home :) I love having sisters who are my BEST friends!! Oh, how I've missed that girl!

Such another fun but busy weekend! This week we get to go to my work christmas party and also Codys family party. Christmas is going to be here before we know it and I'm so excited to get together with all our friends and family who we love so much. Can you believe we're just short of 2 weeks to Christmas?? I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far and that you're all almost done with your shopping cause the malls and shops are CRAZY right now with all the last minute shoppers. I'm sooo relieved to be done. Have a great week everyone!

ThAnKsGiViNg & OuR LONG wEeKeNd!

Our long holiday weekend was wonderful! It sure was hard to come back to work today though. The weekend started for us on Wednesday. I got to go help my mom and Hailee bake pies (which btw, my mom makes the BEST pies EVER! If you've never had a Michele Parry pie you're missing out BIG time!) and get all the food ready for Thursday while Cody slept (he worked a 35hr. shift Tues-Wed) so he was pretty pooped. Thursday morning while I enjoyed sleeping in and watching the Thanksgiving Macy Days parade (I never miss a year!) Cody and some of his cousins went out duck hunting. They didn't have much luck but I know they had lots of fun!! Once Cody was home we got ready and headed out to my moms for dinner with my family this year. It was Code and I, my brother Jed and his family, my brother Jordan and his family, Hailee, Tanner and my mom. The food was absolutely delish, my mom is thee best cook in the world and the company was even better! I LOVE my family :) After dinner, some football games and LOTS of chit-chatting we were off to Codys sister Amies for pie and to visit with his family. I swear every year I am NOT going to do any black Friday shopping and since I'm about done I didn't really need anything but I went out anyways! I'm so glad I did! I finished picking up the little random things on my list and now all I need to do is start WRAPPING! My least favorite part. Lucky for us, Hailee had a tournament at SLCC Friday and Saturday so Friday my mom, Grandma and I went to watch her play while Cody and his buddy Carter used my last home game tickets for the Utes. I was sooo sad to miss it but I couldn't have missed Hailees game (especially since they won 76-54 and Hai had 12 points and a really great game, she's awesome)! After her game the 4 of us went to see Breaking Dawn for the SECOND time (Hailees first) and yep, still LOVED it! Saturday, Cody went duck hunting again with Carter and then he got to come with me, my mom and Tanner for Hais last game in the tournament. They lost :( but it's still pre-season so there will be MANY more games to play! Saturday night Cody and I got to enjoy a little date night that HE planned :) we had SO much fun. Love him! It was a perfect weekend! Could've lasted a little longer though...

I did jump the gun this year with my Christmas decorations. Mainly because I didn't want to have to do them over the Thanksgiving weekend. I'm SO glad I put them up early so I could be lazy and enjoy our long weekend. Totally worth it!

I've got a feeling with all the fun festivities we have planned for December and all the parties, it's just going to fly by so we need to try to slow down enough to enjoy it.

This whole month of November I have loved reading people's posts who did the everyday "thankful for..". I wish I had more time to do something cute like that! Instead, I just wanted to say today that I am very much thankful for sooo many things. We are so blessed to have a warm, cozy place to live. We bought our cute townhouse over 5 years ago and it really is the perfect place for us. We are lucky to have transportation to get us to and from places. We are both so lucky to have the jobs we do. Cody is the hardest worker I have ever seen and those who know him know just what I mean :) he goes above and beyond in everything he does and is so lucky to have such a great job for a really, really amazing company who we will forever be grateful to. I absolutely love what I do and who I work with. Westside Medical has to be one of the greatest places ever to work and I'm lucky to only work 4 days a week which allows me to schedule more hair appts. I'm thankful for my education in Cosmetology, I have the BEST clients ever and I love making them feel pretty, they always make my day! :) I'm thankful for the unconditional love Cody and I have for each other. I truly found my soul mate in that cute boy. He makes me happy every. single. day. I'm even more lucky to be married into such a great family with the best in-laws a girl could ever ask for. They have always been there for us. We are so blessed to have a sweet little spirit in our home and yes.. I'm talking about our little Duke. He makes our lives so much more fun and I don't know what we ever did before we had him! We're so lucky to have the BEST friends and family! We love you ALL so much!! I know there are lots of things I'm not thinking of right now but I just wanted to write this post in the spirit of Thanksgiving this week (even though I'm thankful for all these things YEAR ROUND). Its always great to have a reminder! Overall, I have to say again how grateful I am for Cody. I get to go home to my sweetheart everyday, cuddle on the couch and tell him all about my day and life just doesn't get any better than that. Six years down and forever to go. I sure love my little family :)

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with all of your loved ones! I know we will. I cannot wait to eat until I'm sick ;)

******** I have to add that over the weekend I put up our tree and alllllll of our cute Christmas decor. (I usually wait until after Thanksgiving but NOT this year!) I just couldn't wait any longer! Our house looks so cute and festive and this weekend I'm wrapping all the gifts I've already bought and putting them under the tree :) I LOVE being completely ready for Christmas before December even starts!!

As usual, our last week/weekend was as BUSY as ever! I swear I need more time in each day, and this daylight savings junk does not help. First off, I am so thankful that Hailee plays so many games at SLCC.. makes it MUCH easier to make it to her games. Thursday after work I went down with my mom and Grandma Thomas to watch her play. They won.. YAY! After her game I met up with my friend Kensley to help her take down a wedding she had done that day. (If anyone is ever looking for a wedding planner she does the BEST job!) Friday morning my mom, Hai and I had breakfast together before Hailee headed down to SLCC to play another game. I couldn't make this one though (I had a FULL day of hair appts.) so I stayed home, did some hair while watching the Fremont-Syracuse football game on tv. I was SO happy to see Fremont win, they'll be playing for the championship game this Friday at the U stadium. Way to go Silverwolves!! I also got in a little bit of Christmas shopping and I am happy to say I am almost done! Friday night I also got to pick up my car that is all fixed! It looks even better than before :) Whoo hoo! Saturday was a crazy day... I rode with my mom down to SLCC to watch Hailee play her last game in the tournament and they kicked some major butt but Hailee got injured in the first half and didn't get to play at all the rest of the game :( she sprained her ankle but will hopefully heal fast so she can get back out on the court! Cody met me after the game to head up to the U of U stadium to watch the UTAH/UCLA game. It was pretty dang snowy right up until the game started and then the snow stopped. We were prepared though so we didn't freeze too bad :) Cody is such a GOOD sport for going to the game with me.. we all know he's not much of a Utes fan. I'm a lucky girl he would sit through that freezing game just for me. Love him ♥ After the game, we had dinner at Iggys with the in-laws before heading home to watch the BYU game on tv. (More like Cody watched it while I played with our pup.) I'm not near as good of a sport as he is, ha ha! Sunday we got to celebrate my father in-laws birthday that was the Wednesday before. We had some yummy pulled pork sandwiches and salad and I had a special Denver Broncos cake made for him (they're his team) and we finished the night bowling with them. So fun!!

I think I prefer Halloween when it falls on a weekend but either way.. I LOVE this holiday! So FUN to dress up, be silly all day and eat ALL the candy I want!! (And yes, I ate ALL the candy I wanted... ha ha YUM!!) I have the cutest, most fun coworkers ever. Most everyone dressed up and it was fun to see how creative everyone got.

It was nice that Westside closed early yesterday so I could get off a bit early. I went to visit with my mom and Grandma before Cody got home. Grandma sent me home with her homemade chili (which is my favorite EVER) she makes the BEST and cute pumpkin bread bowls to enjoy with our chili. I also was lucky enough to score some delicious carameled popcorn.. thanks to Grandma and my mama!

How cute are they? Miss Bella and miss Chloe..love these girlies. We usually don't get too many kids (seems like most do the trunk-or-treats nowadays) but I was surprised with how many we got! We went through all of our candy and we bought tons! Okay, Cody and I might've eaten some of it :). After the crowd had died down we, along with Madi and Taylor Kenley went to see Paranormal Activity 3. I LOVE anything scary and I thought this one was by far the best and scariest of the three! I absolutely loved it! Madi had her eyes covered through lots of it and I'm pretty sure both Cody and Taylor dozed off a few times ;) those hardworking boys ha ha! We had such a fun day and night and I hope you all did too! Is it really November now...? Sheesh. Time needs to slow down!

Mostly just severe front end damage, luckily I was okay! Of course it happened when Cody was deer hunting. I should have it back this week though all nice and new so cross your fingers that I get it back SOON.

Friday was a very special day for my baby sis, Hailee. It was her FIRST college basketball game(s). They played three total. I was SO excited that she was playing at SLCC because that meant a much shorter drive than going down to Price. Because I don't work on Fridays I got to go down all day to watch her. My mama and I headed down at eight that morning.. she played at nine, eleven and one. Her first game they were ahead the whole game and ended up losing in the final two minutes. College is sooo much different than high school! Her cute team ended up winning (more like dominating) their second two games! YAY lady eagles!!! I'm excited to watch them this season, they're going to be a good little team! And yeah.. I'm sure I'm a bit biased but my sister TORE IT UP!! She is so dang good and her coach lets her do a LOT more than her high school coach did. I'm not kidding... she is a little baller (breaking ankles left and right, crossing girls over, behind the back passes and all) and SO FUN to watch! Love ya bug!

It was so cute to see her old team and friends show up to support her. This is just a few of them. Is she TINY or what?! You should see her up against some of those college girls.. WOW!! Friday night instead of going to a haunted house like I wanted.. I was a nice wifey and stayed home to watch the BYU game with my cougar-lovin' husband. I tried not to laugh too hard in front of him because lets face it.... it was an awesome game :) Thank you TCU for doing exactly what I predicted you would! Yeah! We were both happy to see the Cardinals take the World Series too!!

My mother in law, Cindy and I cheering on our UTES! The blackout game is my favorite game of the year! We were not disappointed.. Utah dominated Oregon St. and finally got their first PAC12 WIN!! Whooooo hooooo!! Cody worked in Salt Lake Saturday so he picked us up from the game and took us home. He was supposed to come with me but didn't make it in time.. darn work :( I'm sure he wasn't too sad he missed it though. He would've been cheering for Oregon St. anyway!

Saturday night Hailee had a game in Price that my mom went to. So we got to have her sweet little baby, Finn over for his first sleepover. He is SO dang cute! Cody and I just love him (Duke not so much). It was kind of a long night with Cody and I and two yorkies in bed with us... oh dear. He was a good boy though and we had fun :)

What a FUN, crazy busy weekend we had! Friday early in the morning Cody took off for the deer hunt with his stepdad Brett. I was lucky enough to spend the day with my favorite girls! My mom, Hailee, Grandma, my SIL Tara, her sweet girls Graci Mae, Brooky and I headed down to my favorite place ever, Gardner Village! We missed Witches Night Out the previous weekend (remember my last post) so we had to make up for it of course! It was so fun because they still had all the cute witches stuff going on. First off we had lunch at Archibalds (fried green tomatoes) mmmmm!! After lunch we shopped and shopped some more, so fun!

Later Friday night my family bought tickets to go see Paranormal Activity 3 together but I already had plans to hang out with friends :( I was sad to miss it but of course still had a BLAST with the girls!! Saturday we had a surprise bday-costume party to attend for Codys best friend in the whole world, Austin! It was his big 25th and his cute fiance Devre had been planning this party forever! So even though Cody was deer hunting until Monday, he drove home for the party because there was NO WAY he was going to miss it! I baked some cake pops all day Saturday for the party (has anyone made these?) they turned out pretty cute and so yummy! I was surprised how EASY they are to make. Cody got home and we got into our costumes and headed over to the Giles residence around 7. Austin was coming around 7:30 so we had to make sure not to be late! It was SO fun to see his reaction when he came through the door and everybody looked great in their costumes! We had sooooo much fun that night and Devre and her mom did such a great job on all the planning, food and decorations! It was the cutest party ever!

We had such a great evening with our best friends and it was so fun to meet new people we hadn't met before. I had to drag Cody home eventually cause he could've stayed all night! Sunday Cody headed back up for the hunt and I spent the day baking fun things with my mom and Hailee. It was Hailees official last weekend home :( her first basketball games start this weekend! Oh man, am I going to miss her! I think I tell her that everyday, ha ha. We are SO excited to watch her play though. GO CEU girls (and especially #2)!!! Cody came home Monday with no deer. They saw a few but nothing worth shooting and of course they saw TONS of doe. He wasn't too bummed though. Sometimes I wonder if he goes to actually get one or if he goes for the guys weekend. He did have lots of fun though.. like always.

Cody started back on the day shift (YAY)! We're both loving it and this weekend will be fun because I am dragging him to all the haunted houses/scary stuff I can think of! I love that stuff. Well, I must say we had QUITE the weekend! Friday the day started off with a funeral for a sweet man who I've known all my life (his cute family has been in my moms ward for as long as I can even remember, and he was also one of my moms oldest and dearest friends since they were just little kids growing up together in Sunset). It was one of the neatest funerals I have ever attended. Such a beautiful tribute to that amazing man. Afterwards my mom, Hailee and I went to lunch at Great Harvest (yum) and then I was off to run some errands, including taking Duke to get a much overdue haircut! I got to meet up and chat with one of my sweet friends while waiting for Duke to get finished. He looks cute as ever btw! Later that night I met up with my mom and Hailee again to go to Red Lobster for her birthday dinner. After dinner we went to the Fremont-Layton football game to cheer on our Luke H. #31 and of course, Fremont dominated! I will always be a Silverwolf :)

Saturday Cody and I started our day about 5:30am. We met up with my cute FIL Greg and some of his friends to head up to North Fork to hunt for my moose. They were sooo sweet to take me up there and spend the whole day helping me. We took horses so we could go way up to the top and not have to hike for miles :) It was my first "offical" horse ride, I have only been on a horse one other time back when I was in high school and I really only sat on the horse for about 5 mins and walked around the pasture. So, needless to say I have not had a lot of experience! I was terrified to have to ride up a mountain on a horse all by myself but it actually was pretty fun (besides being sore the day after) and I'm so glad I got over that fear, ha ha! We saw TONS of moose that day and even got within less than 50 ft. of a pretty good sized one. The only shot I could've taken though would have been shooting down at it and there was a little scout group about 300 yards below us, so obviously it wasn't a shot I was going to take. Bummer. About an hour after that we spotted a HUGE bull moose that all the guys were freaking out about, saying it was the biggest one they had ever seen up there. We debated for a while on whether or not to hike down to it to see if we could get it. Cody and I decided to just go for it even though I had plans with the girls to go out that night. We figured we would have plenty of time. Oh boy, were we WRONG! Cody and I hiked down this huge, steep mountain side trying to get closer and by the time we made it all the way down we couldn't find him anywhere :( we did see lot's of Cow moose though. Once we were down- there was no way we could hike back up so we had to follow a revine all the way out. It was probably 4-5 miles and we thought no big deal, easy. We couldn't have been more wrong though. It ended up being a 4-5 mile walk straight through a river. At that point we had no choice to turn back or to climb back up the mountain (it was straight up on both sides). It was by far the hardest, scariest experience either of us have ever had! We were muddy and wet up to our waists, we were carrying some binoculars and two guns to make matters even worse. Cody ended up taking my gun and carrying both because we were constantly falling and slipping on the rocks. Everytime we turned a corner and thought we were getting close there was even more river for as far as we could see. We finally made it out a couple hours later and found the rest of our group who were scared the whole time that something had happened to us. There were times where we were both unsure how we were ever going to get out of it. We barely made it out before it got dark (sooo scary)!! My sweet Cody was the only thing that kept me going. He stayed behind me to make sure nothing happened and he had it even worse than I did carrying all the heavy equipment. We were so lucky that neither of us ended up with a sprained ankle, or worse. (We'll take our bruises!) Pretty sure I cried the whole time, poor Cody. I'm writing all this here so we will always remember it, even though Cody and I are the only ones who will ever know how truly SCARY the whole experience was! I obviously didn't make my plans with the girls that night (our annual trip to Gardner Village for Witches Night Out- that was a whole other cry fest in itself), by the time we got home all we wanted to do was shower and chill out in our pj's together. We both woke up yesterday barely able to move and covered in bruises. We're still finding them everywhere.

Sunday was Hailees actual birthday so we went over to my moms for dinner, cake and presents. Cody and I bowled in our bowling league last night after leaving my moms (and after taking some pain pills to help us through). Today we're both still a little sore but doing much better for the most part! We didn't get my moose and might still try again before my hunt ends on Thursday but we'll see how the next few days go first. Codys deer hunt starts this weekend so he'll be gone with the guys for a few days and next week he'll be back on the day shift at work.. YAY!! I can't wait to have my hubby back :) This weekend will be a FUN one and I can't wait for Saturday!!! (It's a secret though, so I can't post about it until next week.)

Sorry for the long, boring post but it was definitely a weekend I needed to write down so Cody and I can remember everything about it. Not really sure if we want to right now though.. ha ha. I'm just glad we're ALIVE!!

I'm so thankful for Cody, seriously. He is one amazing man.

I had some pretty bratty moments during the whole thing and he was still there to comfort me and take care of me. I love you babe, more than you will ever know.

I've been slacking with the blog posts, but our life has been pretty dang busy the last few weeks. Cody's work schedule has changed temporarily.. he's been working two weeks on nights and then 2 weeks on days and so on. It's been a pretty rough adjustment around our house, we haven't been able to spend a lot of time together (with our schedules we just barely miss each other every day). I have had a whole LOT of free time on the nights I'm not doing hair so if anyone would like to hang out or have dinner anytime let me know :) My moose hunt wasn't very successful but my next one starts this Saturday and goes until the 20th, so maybe we'll get one this time! We're still loving all the football games and the weather right now! Happy Fall!!! :)

I'm happy to say I have already started my Christmas shopping! I don't know if I'm excited about this or not... ha ha! But it will be here before we know it!

I'm still on cloud 9 today and have a feeling I will be for at least the next 363 days. Sorry, but HOW could I NOT be?!

We had our great friends Devre and Carter over for the BIG game Saturday after we met up at Burrito Grande for dinner first. My sweet husband was totally outnumbered being the only Y fan in the house. He really is a saint :)

Needless to say... if you watched the game you know how loud and crazy it got at the Gift house!!

Such a GOOD sport always!!

Ahhh... yeah!! Couldn't have asked for a more PERFECT ending! I really thought it was going to be a low scoring, very close game (like they usually are). But nope, thanks to all of the Y's turnovers and all of the ones the U forced on them.. the final result was..

Sorry Y fans, but only 5 out of your 7 turnovers resulted in points for the U. I'll admit Jordan Wynn is not my favorite QB (obviously) but even playing a mediocre game and still blowing out the Y... I would take him anyday over delusional Mr Heaps. Just think what the score would've been if we had actually played well and taken advantage of all of your turnovers... WOW is all I have to say!! I actually almost, almost feel sorry for BYU.

Moose are and have always been my favorite animal. Aren't they beautiful?! Seriously, even my favorite pj's have moose on them. I love them!! I just so happened to draw out for a bull moose tag this year and let's be honest, I kinda have mixed feelings about this. This next week my life, Codys, my brothers, and our dads will consist of hunting one down. I'm really not sure how this is going to go and I'm a bit nervous. I have a good feeling if or when I see one I'll be a bit hesitant to actually pull the trigger. There will most definitely be some tears shed.. am I a girl or what?? But on another note, we will be getting the meat and hopefully if it's a decent size we'll be mounting the head and rack. It won't be going to waste but to say I'll be really sad about it is an understatement. This will be very bittersweet for me but the men are pretty dang excited, go figure!

Friday the 9th, Cody and I got to enjoy a night out at USANA to see one of my all time FAVORITE country bands... Rascal Flatts! I saw them once back when I was a junior in high school and it's still to this day one of my favorite concerts EVER (and I have seen my fair share)! Cody promised if they ever came again he would take me. Lucky for us, Sara Evans was the opener and I just love, love her. Cody doesn't mind her either ;)

We also got to spend the lovely evening with some of Codys family who also happened to be there. (This was the best pic we got of the night... that's Codys cousin Ryan in the middle.)

Sara Evans was soooo good and of course, Rascal Flatts did not disappoint!!

Thank you babe for such a FUN night out, I loved every minute of the show and most of all getting to spend it with you.♥

Our nice, long weekend kicked off on Thursday night at the season home opener for the UTES!! It seriously has to be my most favorite day of the whole year!! (Minus my birthday and Christmas of course!) I've been counting down the days for MONTHS now! I even convinced my little cougar to come to the game with me. I was sooo excited with how the game started and pretty much it was all down hill from there. My team has lot's to improve on but I'm hopeful for at least an 8-4 season. (The performance of BYU on Saturday definitely made me feel MUCH better though!) As far as I'm concerned the most impressive Utah team this week was the one who lost. (Utah State almost had the W over Auburn... we were on the edge of our seats cheering them on!) Dang. I was SO excited though to see this girl show up at the game Thursday night!!

Friday morning I got to meet up with my friend Kensley for breakfast at Jeremiahs and shopping afterwards. We always have a good time together, never fails! Afterwards I took my baby brother Tanner to Olive Garden for his birthday lunch. I can't believe he's 17.. love you buddy!Friday night Cody and I just got to have a movie night and chilled in our pj's (our favorite thing to do on the weekends)! Saturday morning my girlfriends Sara and Kens came over to our house to chit chat and hang out for a bit before we headed over to an old friends bridal shower. We seriously can lose all track of time when we're together catching up! We could (and did) talk for hours. We made a quick trip over to the shower and then it was back to my house for more talking and catching up. Thank you girls, I love you both SO much!!

My favorite part of this awesome weekend though was going down to Salt Lake Saturday afternoon with my sweetheart to FINALLY celebrate our 5 year anniversary that was a couple weeks ago on August 18th. We stayed at the Grand America hotel and Cody watched the BYU game while I took a nap and he woke me up with just a few mins left in the game so I could clean up for our night out on the town. (Funny story... When I realized what a close game the BYU game was me, being the awesome wife that I am was screaming and cheering for Ole Miss.. I was just loving that fact that BYU played like they did and I couldn't get enough of almost watching them lose. Ha ha! Well... our neighbors thought we were being a bit loud so we were kindly asked to turn it down a bit. Ooops!) Once the game was over and we were all cleaned up, we picked up our car from Valet and headed over to the Gateway for some shopping! We didn't get each other anything for our actual anniversary so we spoiled each other at the mall!

Sunday morning we got up and had a very nice brunch at the Grand America. If any of you have had their Sunday brunch you know just how NICE it is. That hotel is beautiful and super fancy! We loved everything about our stay there.

Sunday we had family bbq's with both sides of our families and enjoyed swimming, great food and even better company! We both had Monday off so Cody went out dove hunting with his buddy and I got to finally get out all my FALL decorations! My favorite season ever. I even used my Tai Pan coupon and got some fun, new stuff too! Yay for new stuff :) I went to lunch with my sis before she left and finished the day at home with Cody just hanging out. It was a perfect weekend and I'm SO excited for the Fall/football season and all the fun festivities up ahead!

I've been dreading this past weekend for awhile now. The Summer just seemed to fly by SO fast and it was here before we knew it. It was time to take Hailee to college.

First thing we did was head over to the Student Center to get her house keys, lunch and laundry cards and of course, her books.

Had to get some fun stuff to wear to the games too! After we got her keys we went over to her Dorm in Sessions Hall and opened the door to find this....

SICK! Ha ha, I think you're pretty brave if you can live in a dorm room. We got right to work.

The finished product! SO much better. We joked the whole time that it was Extreme Home Makeover: Dorm Edition! After hours of setting things up, and two Walmart trips later we were pretty tired and hungry. We had heard that this little Mexican joint "Los 2 Amigos" was a really good place to eat. It really was sooo good!!

In the hotel that night, we didn't plan to have the same pajamas on! We seriously couldn't stop laughing! We should have gotten more rest that night but we were having too much FUN!! First thing Saturday morning Hailee yells out "We've got a LONG day ahead of us..." my mom, Grandma and I just burst out laughing because we really didn't have anything to do but the poor girl was going to drag the day out as long as she possibly could! Don't blame her though. After we got up and checked out of our hotel, we went to breakfast and then decided to find some of her classes and go see the gym.

While we were at the gym we ran into her head coach, Paur and I have to say he is the sweetest man I've ever met. He promised to take good care of our girl for us. We wandered around campus for a few hours, found her classes and then explored the little town. There's not a whole lot to do in Price, It's so small! We went to a few cute shops and then went to lunch at the Main Street Grill.

It was finally time to drop her off and say our goodbyes. Cody and I had this blanket made for her and she loved it!

Pulling away we looked and saw her peeking out her blinds waving to us. The tears just started flowing! She'll be able to come home most weekends until basketball starts and after that we'll be going down there to watch her play. But it was so sad!! She's my best little buddy and I'm going to miss her so much. We're so proud of you Hailee, you're going to do great and we can't wait to come watch you play!! You're a college girl now :)

Grand Teton Relay!!

Thursday, August 18th was our 5 year anniversary. I really can't believe it's been five years, it has gone by sooo fast! We had registered a LONG time ago to run in the Grand Teton Relay over the weekend so we are celebrating our anniversary another weekend. The relay was a 200 mile run from Ashton, ID to Teton Village, WY. It's just like Ragnar where you have a team of 12 divided into 6 runners in 2 vehicles. Cody had to be up at 5am to go work for a few hours and I felt like I had to do something for him so I set my alarm for 4am so I could cook him a nice big breakfast of biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, OJ and fresh strawberries. He loved it! I sure love that boy and am thankful everyday I get to be his wife. Once he was off work that afternoon we grabbed our bags and were off on our GRAND adventure!

This is the only picture of us we got on our actual anniversary. We just got to our hotel in Ashton, ID and we were more than ready for bed at this point. Our truck got a little distracted on the way and almost ended up in Montana.. oops! :) Van 2 got to the hotel way before us and switched all of our sheets on our beds to the short way..... we were shortsheeted. Of course once they went to bed we tagged their van with car paint and wet toilet paper!

Cody just finishing his first run. Can I just say my hubs is AMAZING! He seriously blew past everyone he ran with and averaged around a 6-7 min mile. He was the talk of the whole race! I thought I knew he had it in him but he totally surprised me! He's a natural!! I'm SO proud of him.

After our 5 finished our runs it was time to hand off to our Van 2 for theirs. We had about 6 hours to kill so we found a park and tried to get a little rest before our night runs started.

Waiting for our other teammates to finish to send me off on my first night run. We ended up starting around 11pm. Is it just me or are those night runs a little CREEPY?! All I had was a little headlamp that gave off literally no light. I seriously thought I was going to get kidnapped! It ended up being one of my fastest runs, ha ha! I was actually the lucky one though, I had a beautiful run while the rest of my team ended up running trail runs in the dark. No broken ankles though.... whew!

Cody captured this photo while I was running my last run Saturday morning. All together we saw this cow moose, a doe and 2 fawns, an elk, 2 bald eagles and lot's of horses and buffalo. SO cool! We were just happy we didn't run into any BEARS!!

Waiting in Teton Village at the finish line was such a cool feeling. Our teams last runner (in Van 2) was my mom and my aunt Kims cousin Natalie. Cody ran up to meet her about a half a mile before the finish to encourage and support her. He took all of her heavy gear and helped her to pass another runner to beat her across the finish line. She was so glad to have Cody finish the end with her, it was the coolest thing ever! He's such a sweetheart.

As I mentioned earlier our truck only had 5 runners where we should've had 6. We had a runner drop a week before the race and couldn't ever fill her spot so.... that meant instead of 3 runs each some of us actually ran 4! We marked ourselves after completing each run.

We had a BLAST, even Cody! I can't imagine spending this crazy, fun weekend without him. He was the party of the group and had everyone laughing the whole time. I'm so happy he agreed to run this with me, especially since he ended up being a ROCKSTAR! I think he's addicted now. :)

Another Bear Lake trip and sad news...

My family planned a little get away to Bear Lake this past weekend. Most of them headed up Thursday and since I worked Thursday I didn't make it up until Friday. Cody had work all weekend so he stayed home this trip. We played at the park Friday when I got there then headed back up to our campsite near St. Charles. Friday night we had to go back into town to meet my brother and his family so while we waited we hit the public swimming pool, walked around the park again then met Jordan and his cute family at the Bear Lake Pizza Co. for dinner. It was delish! After dinner, we drove back up to camp and got a fire started. My brothers always have the BEST camp fires! Must be the Native American in us.. ;) With a little help from my brother Jed we got to practice target shooting with his bow (which is extremely HARD btw)! I even closed my eyes as I shot it, ha ha! Good thing he was behind me aiming it so I didn't kill someone!

Saturday we got up, cooked breakfast, packed our lunches and headed down to the Lake where my mom had rented a waverunner for the day. We picked it up and my little brother Tanner and I drove it down to the beach where the rest of the family was. We played all day on it and had a BLAST!! Thank you mom for everything you do for us!!! I didn't get any pics of Saturday.. we were havin' too much fun :)

I got a call Saturday afternoon from Cody with some really sad news. My in-laws dog Trigger who was not even 6 years old had been swimming with family (and our pup Duke) in their swimming pool all day. Any of you who knows Trigger knows that he was an excellent swimmer and diver and basically lived in the pool all Summer long. Swimming was definitely his favorite thing to do, he was a little fish! Anyway, he had dived in after one of his toys.. which he did ALL the time and he happened to come up right under a mat that was in the pool. It was literally 30 seconds before they realized that he hadn't come up yet and by the time my father in law had jumped in to get him... it was too late. We lost our sweet little Trig Saturday and I can't even tell you how awful it is. He was just as much part of our family as anyone. He was just a brand new puppy when Cody and I started dating, he's been around as long as I have and he will be sooo missed. We love you buddy and will MISS you!!!

My family was planning on leaving Saturday anyway but this phone call kind of rushed things. Thanks family for understanding and being there. I was in my car on my way home within half an hour and literally sped the whole way home. I'm so glad I was able to spend some time with my family, especially staying up by the fire until 1am Friday night with my mom, Hai, Jed, Jordan and Tanner just talking. I LOVE them more than anything!! Wasn't the best end to the weekend, but I'm still glad I was able to spend time with my family before Hailee heads off to college in 3 short weeks. :(

Okay, people! I need HELP!! Our 5th wedding anniversary is right around the corner and I am at a total loss of what to get Cody. We will be out of town (actually driving all day on our actual anniversary, the 18th of August) and will be staying in Island Park/Jackson Hole until Sunday the 21st. Problem is we're running a relay all day both the 19th and 20th with a team of 12 people! We will be driving up with them and be staying in a condo with them also. Basically... we won't really have any alone time so HOW do I do something special for him?! Is there anything traditional for the 5th year?? ANY ideas would be SO much appreciated! You all helped so much with his 25th bday planning and I'm hoping somebody has any good or ANY ideas for me!!

We've had a pretty great Summer so far. I feel like it's just flying by though! So sad. We love Summertime! We've done lots of FUN things though and have stayed sooo busy! I have to say.. one of my favorite things to do is go swimming/laying out at my in-laws. YAY for no public pools :) Over the 24th weekend we saw some movies, had a fire in our backyard, went to the Rodeo both Saturday and Monday night, went to the Ogden parade, slept in and watched movies alllll day long Sunday. So nice and relaxing! Gotta love Holiday weekends. Just a few random pictures of what we've been up to!

LOTS of swimming and laying out! Funniest thing ever.. our little man Duke LOVES the pool! Seriously, we can't keep him out! The weekend of the 15-17 we took a little trip up to Electric Lake with Codys family. We go every year and have so much fun!

Carter had a "little" accident out on the wakeboard. We were kind of in panic mode right now trying to get him and Dev out of camp and to the hospital asap. Luckily, they were able to stitch him up but still... it looked so so painful. As you can see in the picture though.. he was a LOT more calm than the rest of us.

Annual Bear Lake Trip!!

Every Summer we get to go up to Bear Lake and enjoy some cabin time with our great friends, and we very much look forward to it! It's just so peaceful and relaxing. We drove up Friday after Cody got home from work. We were about an hour behind the rest of the gang because we had to head over to Codes moms house first and hook up the boat. (A HUGE thanks to my amazing in-laws for letting us use the boat whenever!) Once we got there though, they had dinner already cookin' on the stove and it was DELISH! We were excited to spend the weekend with another couple we hadn't met yet (Halie and Trevor) and oh my heck, they were so much fun! Halie was the chef Friday night. After dinner it was time to put on our comfy sweats and play games!!

Saturday was boating day! We were checking the weather all week long, worried about thunderstorms and luckily for us it couldn't have been more perfect! Other than the water being just a little chilly :)

Saturday night we always go out to eat and for the second year in a row we went to Cafe Sabor. If you're ever in Bear Lake you must try it! It's a very yummy Mexican restaurant. We ate outside and were just finishing up as the thunderstorm finally decided to roll in. Perfect timing!

I think we were all pretty worn out from our day out on the boat and then dinner so once we got back to the cabin it was right back into our comfy's and time to chill. Since it was raining we spent the evening inside playing games and watching movies.

Sorry.. this is one of those "boring" posts with no pictures. I just like to write things here so we will remember. Cody ran his first race EVER last Saturday, the West Haven 5k. I just have to brag and say that in over a year he hasn't run at ALL besides a few days before the 5k. He did SOOO great! Even placed third. I was so proud! I know it's not something he necessarily loves to do but he knows I love it so he's been trying really hard to get into it with me and so far so good! He's even so sweet to have joined our Grand Teton Relay team in August. We'll be running from Island Park to Teton Village (it happens to fall on our anniversary weekend). I know I couldn't do it without him, I didn't love the idea of being away from him for our 5 year anniversary so he signed up too! What a trooper!! I'm treating him to some sweet new running shoes this week for all his hard work. Love you babe and I can't think of a better way of celebrating 5 years together than running 180 miles over two days.. yes, I think I may be a bit crazy :) he he.

I hope you're all loving this Summer weather as much as we are! It's about dang time!! Nothin' better than vaca's, laying out, and snowies! I'll have much more to post about in the next two weeks... we have some really FUN things planned!

Saturday Cody and his best friend Austin participated in the Wiperfest fishing tournament out at Willard Bay. It was their first year ever and these two were SO excited! They actually ended up doing really well (Austin mostly, lol). I'm just glad they got to enjoy a day out on the lake doing what they love.

They started the day around 5am-ish and didn't wrap up until about 2 in the afternoon. It looks like it might have been a bit chilly that morning.

Friday night was Hailees high school graduation. I had never been to one at 7:30 pm before.. kinda crazy to go to one so late. Obviously we had to meet for dinner before the ceremony so the family met up at Ruby River before she had to be up there... SO yummy!

The rest of our weekend was spent relaxing by Codys moms pool and spending time with family. We also got to see the Les Miserables play at the Capitol Theatre and it was just as good as I remembered! We only have about a month and a half left to spend with our girl before she's off to College :( Oh, WHAT will I do without her?!

Now, if only it would actually start to feel like Summer! Saturday the 21st I got to run the Ogden Half Marathon. It was kind of a last minute thing (thank you to my sis in-law Amie for giving me her spot)! I'm SO glad I did it, I had a BLAST and finished in just under 2 hours.. not too bad for my first! The run was GORGEOUS and it couldn't have been more perfect weather. Cody and his mom met me at the Finish line.

My dad was volunteering so I got to see him after too!

Right after the run we were off to Lake Mead for 5 days! Talk about a 13.1 mile run and then being cooped up in the car for 7 hours.. thank heavens for Ibuprofen :) We spent Saturday night in Mesquite and were up bright and early Sunday to find our camping spot and to get the boats out on the water!

The Red Rock Relay took place this last weekend. If you don't know, it's 70 miles through beautiful Moab, Ut. The most GORGEOUS views I've ever seen and besides the HEAT, our 6 man team had a weekend we'll never, ever forget!! This was my very first relay and I think it's safe to say I might be addicted :) Enjoy the pics, there are lots! A bit out of order.. but you get the idea :)

Our Easter weekend was wonderful! It was nice to actually have some decent weather.. although we're MORE than ready for some Summer heat! Saturday was Hailee's Prom.. she only has one more dance (Senior Cotillion). I'll be in Moab running the Red Rock Relay, she was actually supposed to run it with me until we found out it fell on the same day as her dance. :( So... since I'll be outta town this happened to be the last time I got to help her get ready for a dance. So bitterweet! I love playing dress up with her- I always have. I also love that she let's me :) Little sisters are SO fun!

Easter Sunday we started the day off at Cody's sister Amie's house for lunch and to visit with the family. It was delish! Afterwards we drove out to my moms to watch the little kids hunt for eggs and to enjoy a yummy dinner. My mama is the BEST cook ever! She even made my favorite Strawberry cream cheese cake :)

After my moms we headed home and made a quick stop at my dads considering he is my next door neighbor and all and we rarely see each other! He got this cute little Easter basket for Duke. Duke LOVED it! Cody and I were pretty lame and didn't do any gifts this year. We just ate way too much candy and junk and went shopping Saturday for some fun new stuff. Cody got a new pair of jeans and my purchase is in the mail... I CANNOT wait for them to get here!! So please hurry Nordstroms. Okay, thanks :)

My "old man" (yes I know I'm only one year behind, ha) Quarter of a century! Wow, time really does fly! 25 reasons I love this guy: (And yes- there are many, many more than that!!) ***Please don't feel obligated to read the whole thing. 1: You kiss me good night and good morning every. single. day. In our whole marriage you've never, ever missed a day. 2: You're always more than willing to do things for me that I sometimes don't have time to do. Cooking and cleaning to name a few.. even though it's definitely not your favorite thing. 3: You've always been my biggest supporter when it comes to anything. I know no matter what that you'll always be behind me cheering me on. 4: We share the same sense of humor. I love the nights where we lay in bed and laugh our butts off at the dumbest stuff for hours. 5: You always know when I'm in need of a Dr. Pepper or a Rockstar to get through my long work days and without asking, you always show up with one in hand. 6: I know you could watch ESPN and any other sports channels ALL day long but you always make sure to cuddle up on the couch with me to watch 90210, One Tree Hill, Desperate Housewives, Jersey Shore, Teen mom, and Biggest Loser. (Sometimes I even think you may be more into the shows then me, ha.) 7: You encourage me to spend good quality girl time with my sisters and my friends. You even let me break the bank on our shopping sprees :) 8: You understand me better than anyone in my life ever has and I love that we can finish each others sentences or know exactly what the other is thinking with just one look. 9: You are the peacemaker in our marriage. You're sweet to me even on the days when you shouldn't be :) I love how you know just when I need a big hug. 10: Your always up for my crazy ideas and I love the fact that we're both as spontaneous as the other. Makes for some interesting times & especially stories :) 11: I love that we share the same love for soccer, bowling, snowboarding, vacations and so on... without kids we've been able to play constantly and as much fun as kids will be one day.. I'm SO thankful we've had the time to do all these things together. 12: I'm grateful for the fact that you work as hard as you do to provide for our family. I have never heard you complain ONCE as long as I've known you about working. (I also have to thank your parents for teaching you and showing you the way when it comes to that.) 13: I love how silly you are. You can make me laugh so easily. 14: You tell me I'm beautiful even when I don't feel like it. Ponytail, sweats, right after a workout and you still tell me I look cute. 15: I love how excited you get to go play ball with the guys, when you bowl a 260, when your the top scorer on our indoor team or when you kick my trash down the mountain. So competitive, but I love your passion for those things. 16: I've never met a more romantic guy in my life. I love finding little notes around the house. You've done that since our first date and almost 6 years later I still find at least one note a day. I love finding them :) 17: I still get butterflies when I see you or when your name pops up on my phone. I love talking to you and being with you more than anything! 18: I love how cute you are with our nieces and nephews and Duke. I know you will be a GREAT dad one day and I cannot WAIT to see that and to be apart of it. 19: I love the way your eyes wrinkle up when you laugh or smile. You always have a smile on your face (probably the reason for those cute little wrinkles). 20: You make me want to be a better person and I already know that I am for having you in my life. 21: Your great with money and you've always been the one to take care of all the finances. (Good thing, I'm a spender.) 22: This may or may not be a good thing but I actually love that we disagree on just about every sports team (besides the Jazz). I can forgive you for being a BYU fan :) It makes it MUCH more fun around our house when we get to be rivals sometimes! Not to mention... you're a MUCH better sport than me. 23: I love that you let me take half your closet and drawer space with only a little complaining. Heaven knows I need it. 24: You love my big, crazy family and they adore you. ♥ 25: I LOVE you for being YOU. I LOVE you for everything you've done for me and I LOVE you for loving ME the way you do. I can't wait for the rest of our lives together. It's definitely going to be a good time :)

I officially suck at taking pictures. I'm glad I at least got a few of our FUN night! Saturday night I threw a surprise party for Cody's 25th birthday (which is actually today). Saturday night was the LADY GAGA concert. We've been waiting for over a year for this day to come and it FINALLY did! My sis and I rode the Frontrunner down to Gateway before the show to have dinner & after that we were off! Let me just tell you... it was almost more fun to people watch than the actual concert! But not really, she was a m a z i n g! She definitely puts on a great show! I knew what a freak she was but... she still surprised me anyway! LOVE HER!! And yes, obviously we tried to dress up somewhat crazy for this event but trust me when I say this- we were actually pretty dressed down compared to most the people there!

We made lot's of new friends! Don't worry, they're not into women ;)

By far the most fun concert I've been to and if she comes back again.. I will for sure be there!!

Prayer right before Saturdays Championship game.

These cute ladies have been Region champions 3 years in a row, took the State title last year, they're currently ranked 23rd in the NATION, and had won 48 consecutive games. How many people can say that?! They swept right through all of their competition last week at the State tournament and experienced a tough loss Saturday in the championship game against Alta. Not the way Hailee had expected to end her senior year but I'd say there's not one thing to be sad about. Alta played their toughest game as the underdog and that's just the way it goes sometimes. I could not be MORE PROUD of my sis even if they had won the game. She is SOOO talented and next year we'll either be watching her tear it up at CEU or we'll be watching her help coach her Titans. (Whichever she chooses to do.) She has been a leader this year and has literally been the glue holding her team together many times this season.

We are so so so proud of you bug! You amaze me every single day with your talent, confidence, competitiveness, your love for your team, your coaches, your fans and especially your love for the game. Best and CUTEST little point guard I've ever seen. You carried your team this week. I'm lucky to not only call you my sister, but my best friend too. For anyone reading this.... if you happen to get the Standard Examiner... check out OUR Standard Star tomorrow. There's NOBODY more deserving!

We went to the Jazz game last Wednesday. My brother Jed and my sis in-law Tara got tickets forever ago to this game. They played Chicago and of course, we mostly went to "BOOO!!" Boozer and to see my boyfriend Korver (don't worry, Cody knows about us).

It's too bad they kinda stink lately and lost this game but we're hoping with the new coach Ty Corbin things will start looking up for our beloved Jazz :)

Friday after Hailee's basketball game we decided to brave the crowds on 25th street to see the FREE Ice Cube concert. Umm.. yeah.. not the smartest thing we've ever done but a BLAST anyways! It was much too packed for my liking but we did stay for a song or two before pushing ourselves through the mobs of people to get to our car about 20 feet away. (It only took us a little over an hour to get to it.) My dear sweet hubby held onto me as tight as he could- because seriously if he hadn't we would have totally lost each other in the madness!

Saturday we drove up to Snow Basin for the Dew Tour. It was the men and womens half pipe final. We've watched it on TV many times but it is seriously something you have to see in person one day! A M A Z I N G ♥ And afterwards we enjoyed a very yummy dinner together at the Pizzeria!

Cody and I could totally conquer this if we wanted to! Ha ha.. okay definitely not in our wildest dreams. Sure made us want to hit the slopes though!

Sunday was the day we celebrated V-day. Cody booked our room at the Alaskan Inn a while back and we finally got to enjoy it. We had dinner at the Oaks before settling into our cozy little cabin for the night.

Sundance!

We like to take a little drive up to Park City every year for the Sundance film festival. You know... to walk around Main street, visit the Rocky Mountain chocolate factory for a delicious caramel apple, and to maybe stalk some celebrities.

This year did not disappoint. We went up Friday night with some friends and chose to eat dinner at Flanagan's (mine and Cody's FAVORITE spot) and wouldn't ya know right there in the middle of everyone was Lil Jon himself. I was beyond thrilled to even see anybody! To Cody's horror I'm sure, I pushed my way through the crowds so I was face to face with him and then, not knowing what the heck to say, told him how much I loved him! Ha ha, he was kind enough to give me a sweet handshake. That was pretty much all that was needed to make the whole night a success. Well, besides my caramel apple.

Well, we have finally decided to do it! We picked up our own last night and will be starting TODAY! I'm not going to lie.. I'm a bit nervous. I've heard it's pretty intense but we're excited at the same time! Wish us luck.. heaven knows we'll need it. Hopefully 90 days from now (which is Cody's birthday, btw) we'll be lookin' just like those two in that photo. Ha... okay probably not :)

I'm not even sure where to start.. we had one of our very best Christmas' ever! It's always so great to be able to see all of our loved ones and spend some good quality time with my sweetie. We were sure spoiled this year. We're both so thankful for our sweet family and friends.. we LOVE you ALL!

Christmas Eve we started the evening at Grandma Nan's and Grandpa Arnie's for dinner and as always, it was fun to see Cody's dads side of the family. We can't believe how much the family has grown! After spending a couple hours there we went to my mom's to exchange gifts with my siblings and then finished the night at Cody's moms. Christmas morning Cody woke me up at 4:00 am!! No joke! I made him wait until 4:30 to open presents, eventually I knew I'd have to get up because I knew he wasn't going to let me sleep in :) CRAZY kid! We opened our presents from each other and after that we drove over to my moms and woke them all up at 6. It was fun to be there as they opened theirs! Then it was off to Cody's dads, his moms, my dads then home for an afternoon nap before going back to my moms to play games and back to his moms for dinner and a movie. Whew.. it was a long, crazy couple of days! We wouldn't have it any other way.

This was our house after opening presents. Pretty sure our garbage can is completely full and we have to wait until Thursday for the garbage man. Shoot.

Since little Duke is our only baby (for now) he was spoiled rotten. He's loving all his new toys and treats.

My presents... I got a snowboard and everything to go along with it, a season pass so I can get my use out of it WHOO HOO, a Nook which I am SO excited about, some very cute Victorias Secret Utah sweats and some Aero sweats (my FAV), lot's of perfume and lotion, some new K Swiss shoes, an ipod touch, Just dance 2, some new books, and see that little red and black key? That goes to my favorite gift this year, my VERY OWN Treadmill! (I'll really never see ya now Amanda! :) ) I also got lot's of shopping money and gift cards and other random stuff.

Cody's pile! He got all new snowboarding gear, a season pass to use it all, a new phone, a new computer for the house, a watch, some new shoes, cologne, LOT'S of clothes, hats & beanies, new jammies, games for his Playstation3, work boots, a new carhartt coat, some spending money and lot's of gift cards. Along with a bunch of random stuff. We both got everything we could ever ask for and so much more :) We LOVE it all and are so THANKFUL! The very best part of the week was eating way too much food, playing games, cuddling on the couch watching Christmas movies, and seeing all of our family members and getting to enjoy everyone's company. We really missed you Chase and Amber! We hope you all had as great of a Christmas as we did! And we also hope you have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I have to say, Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction puts on THE BEST work parties ever! These guys definitely know how to have fun! This year it was held at the Southtowne Expo Center. They had a very yummy dinner catered and after dinner they gave out awards and talked about all of the jobs they have going right now. Cody will hit his 5 year mark with them in March so he barely missed the 5 year award.... next year! After dinner and awards they set up for Casino night. We were all given $3000 in fake money to gamble with and win prizes! They had a huge raffle giving away vacations and huge tv's and lot's of other fun things which of course, we won none of :) We actually didn't stay for the whole party though.. his company had worked out a deal with the Hyatt right next to the Expo so we booked a room and got to enjoy the whole night together.

Our room was SO nice, I wish we had taken more pictures!

We had so much fun and it was great to be able to spend the night together just us! I love this man. We're SO thankful to be apart of RLW, they are the BEST company and so generous. They have done so much for our family! Can't wait to see Cody get HIS award next year!

Okay, so we realize that most people probably have kids before taking new family pictures BUT we (and I'm sure our parents) are a little sick of our engagement/wedding day photos that are still hanging up in our house. Our Thanksgiving weekend was great! We were both lucky to have so much time off work to spend together. It was much needed! Wednesday I spent the evening at my moms cooking and getting everything ready for Thursday. We always spend more time goofing around then getting anything done but it's SO fun to be with my mom and sisters. On Thanksgiving we ate at my moms first and then went to Cody's moms for round 2 :) You HAVE to love a holiday where you just get to eat all day long, right? Maybe it's just me... but I LOVE it!

BEST pie maker in the WORLD is my mama! I'm thankful for a great teacher like her! (I made two of my own this year and they were DELISH! Thanks mom!) This is like 1/4th of them. See the one Chase dropped?!

I love my brothers :) We weren't all together this year at the same times but it was still fun to spend it with some of my cute family. We were SO glad to have Chase and Amber with us all the way from Boston. We don't get to see them much :(

Too much food, not enough room!

We didn't take any more pictures (Cody's request) but dinner at my in-laws was so good! Cindy had to work early in the day so that left Brett in charge of the whole dinner and he did a GREAT job! It was fun to have his parents in town to eat with and some more family from Salt Lake! Now I wish I would've taken more pictures anyways! We spent the rest of the night at home relaxing and eating leftovers. We have SO MUCH to be thankful for. Friday I wasn't brave enough to do any shopping with my family but I did get talked into going out a little later in the day and I'm glad I did! I still got plenty of good deals and most the crowds had died down by then. Did anyone else go?! We spent the rest of the day putting up all of our Christmas decorations. We're definitely in the Christmas spirit now :) We enjoyed watching the Jazz beat the Lakers that night with some great old friends. Thanks for the invite Campbells, we'll have to do it again soon! SATURDAY.... What a day!! It was the big rivalry game UTAH vs BYU. We bundled up and headed down early. If you've never been to one of these games, you have no idea what a MAD house it is! It's CRAZY!!

THANKFULLY we pulled out with the win :) 17-16 to end the last "rivalry" game now that we no longer play in the same conference. We're on to the PAC12 and BYU is heading down the lonely independence road. Good luck cougs, we'll meet again next September and I have a feeling this rivalry will never die! Whoo hoo!! There is NOTHING that makes me happier than those SAD, PATHETIC cougar fans who try to come up with reasons why they lost. Really guys? I think I'll take a 10-2 record anyday over your 6-6. (ps.. I better not hear any more byu fans blaming it on a "bad" call. Sore losers.. may I remind them of the San Diego State game with the same "bad" call going their way? Being the ONLY reason they even won that game? Be thankful for your 6-6 season guys :) If you didn't see the last play of the game where we BLOCKED your field goal attempt.. you should look it up.) But really.. if it helps you guys sleep at night.. I won't burst your bubble :) Must not have been living so "righteously" off the field this year... gasp!

I actually hate Rivalry week. Not because I'm nervous about the big game. I just don't care so much for all the hype about it. This year I'm VERY thankful to be a UTAH fan and not a by(who) fan, but at the end of the day the record really doesn't matter when it comes down to this game. It's ALWAYS close and pretty much evenly matched. I only get anxious on game day. This year I'm not that concerned (I really have no reason to be) but like I said, it's anyone's game. Either way... ONE person in our family will be happy this Saturday and the other one will not be so much. Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow bloggin' friends and...

I just have to write this post because even on a bad day (and there have been lot's the last few months) I really am so blessed to have such a good, happy life. It's easy to dwell on the negatives and to feel like life is just too hard sometimes and it's sad that it takes Thanksgiving once a year to really think about how much we do have and how blessed we truly are. Having my husband gone the last three months has been HARD (and that's an understatement). I feel like I probably took him for granted sometimes and it really took him not being around for me to see that. I know I shouldn't even complain when so many other people experience that all. the. time. But I have to say that now with him home, it's been so wonderful to know he will be there when I get home from a long day at work or just the fact that we can meet up for lunch if we want to and I really can't wait for all the fun memories to be made now with him home everyday. I really LOVE him so much. I'm so thankful that he has such a great job (even if that does take him away from me sometimes) and that he is SO dedicated to his job. He is such an inspiration to me and I know, no matter what, he will ALWAYS provide for us and our family because his work ethic has always been one of his very best qualities. I don't know anyone else that works as hard as that man. I'm so so lucky to have him forever. Not to mention, he makes me feel so loved every single day. I'm also thankful for my job.. there is nothing better than getting to do what you LOVE everyday. I'm thankful for our amazing families and for all of our great friends who are always there for both of us no matter what! I'm also so thankful for our little baby duke.. not a day goes by that he doesn't put a smile on our faces :) he's so much fun! I could go on and on about everything but most of all I'm just thankful for OUR life together. I'm such a HAPPY girl and I can't think of anything better than that :)

(This last Friday at the Jazz game, we had so much FUN, even though they lost to the Spurs :( and THANK YOU to my sweet friend Sara for taking us down to the VIP room at half time and making us feel so special ha ha!)

I hope you all have a GREAT Thanksgiving with all of your loved ones. I know we plan on eating alllllllll day long.. and then putting up all of our Christmas stuff together on Friday! It's been so hard for me to wait until then, ha! I'm so excited for the Holidays and getting to spend so much time with all the people we love so much.

Well... I'm thinking my hubby looks pretty GOOD in red and black. Sadly, he is still a die hard BYU fan. Must be something about watching losing teams that does it for him. I'm blaming him for our performance Saturday. Ha, okay not really. It was pretty horrible but at least OUR record is still 8-1 and NOT 4-5.

I think I'll take it :)

We had a lovely weekend together.. Cody went back to Idaho for the LAST time Saturday night just to start cleaning up the job site and to start bringing things home. After Wednesday he'll never be going back (which will be wonderful) but that also means I have to start cooking dinner again.. yikes! Just kiddin' I will cook ten dinners a night just to have him there to cook for :)

Well....today it has been 80 days since my Cody has been gone (but who's counting, right?) granted I have gotten to see him a day or two here and there. I just have to say.. I do NOT know how so many people do this on a regular basis. I personally know a lot of women who put up this business alllll the time and as pathetic as it sounds.. I just don't think it's for me. The next time he has an out of town job- our WHOLE family (that would be duke and I) are packing up and going with him. Mark. My. Words. :) Thankfully, I have such a great group of people who I've been blessed to be able to spend so much time with. Thank you to all my friends and family who have put up with me tagging along pretty much everywhere and who have been there for me through all of my "meltdowns." I thought I would post a few random pictures of what I've been up to without my honey.

Random road trip to Powell, Wyoming. (ps.. there is nothing to do in Powell, Wy. and I mean NOTHING!) This trip consisted of lot's of sisterly bonding, getting lost- even with the help of Mapquest, lot's of junk food and lot's of good memories made :)

Gardner Village

No better way to spend a Saturday afternoon then at a UTAH game and shopping with my sis. Even if we sat through the pouring rain. Totally worth it.

I LOVE you all and I'm so thankful to be part of the BEST family in the world! I haven't had to spend much of these last 80 days alone, and I know that it had to be the worst for Cody to be so far away. And now for the GOOD NEWS- he'll be back in 5 days and I'm pretty much going crazy with anxiety! Ha ha... nothing like having them gone to make ya appreciate them :) He is the most amazing husband and such a joy to be around (most of the time haha). I'm so lucky to be his wife. Thank heavens our life is returning to normal. I'm not sure how much more my little heart could take.

* Just a fun little fact.. Halloween 2010 marked the 5th "dating anniversary" for us and I'm so glad the unexpected circumstances of that day led us to one another.. 5 years?! Crazy! *

One of my favorite things about this time of year is all the traditions my family has. Over the weekend my cute mom in-law had her annual Halloween party for all the girls! It's always fun to see all her sweet friends. We got our cards read by a card reader (only slightly creepy), ate WAY too much food, bought some fun crafts and holiday candles from the very creative Sharon, and just visited with everyone until 1:30 in the morning. Yes, some of us were really up chatting that late! It was such a FUN night.. thank you Cindy!

Friday night our good friends Austin and Devre had planned a fun date night for the four of us. We went to Roosters on 25th street and as usual the food was delish! Afterwards we walked over to Wiseguys for some comedy. I can't remember the name of the headliner but oh my, he was pretty freakin' hilarious! We had such a good time! Thanks guys for a FUN night!!

Saturday Hailee, my big brother Jed and I went down to the Utah game together. We went early so we could go to the bookstore and buy some more Utah stuff (like any of us really needs any more) before heading to the big homecoming game! Of course we won 56-3 and just so ya'll know.. we are now 4-0 and ranked #1 in our conference. We are slowly making our way to the top 10 in the nation! YEAH UTES!

Little miss popular Hailee went to another Homecoming dance this weekend. Fremont's last week and Syracuse's this week. It is SO much fun to help her get ready, but I'm thankful we won't be doing it again for a while :)

Our fun weekend started on Thursday night. I took my mom, Hailee and Tanner to the Utah game. Such a great game by the way! It was also my BABY brothers 16th birthday (that means I'm old!) so afterwards we met up with my oldest brother Jed for some pizza at the Pie to celebrate Tanner's birthday and of course our big win!

I hope you had a FUN birthday Tan the man!

27-24 in Overtime for Utah :) It was CRAZY in that stadium!!!

Friday was the day I had been waiting for! I got to drive up to see my cute husband. Some of our family was also staying in Jackson Hole for the weekend so we got to spend some time with them. For the most part though, we stayed holed up in Cody's cabin away from everything and anyone. It was p e r f e c t. ♥ Friday night Cody and I went to a really fun indie-rock type concert at the Grand Targhee ski resort. We didn't know any of the bands that were playing but the headliner was Willie Nelson's son. We even got to meet him after the show, it was pretty cool! We just sat on the hill and watched all the crazy hippie folks down below us do their thing, ha! So besides some relaxing, hot-tubbing and lot's of shopping we also went fishing.. (until I broke the fishing pole)

Okay, so can anyone else believe it's almost September? Where did Summer go? It's so sad that the warm weather, boating, camping, and all the fun summer activities are coming to an end. I have to say though.... Fall is my FAVORITE time of year! I can't wait for the smell and the feel of Fall, football season, hot chocolate, soup & breadsticks, witches night out at Gardner Village and everything else! I love love love it! It's already starting to feel like it and one of the very best parts of the season starts this week.. UTAH FOOTBALL. I hope these next couple days just fly by so on Wednesday I can go to dinner with one of my dearest, sweetest friends..

I love her. Then Thursday night is the Utah season opener against PITT and it should be a really great game! I can't wait.. I've been staring at my season tickets for days no, months now :)

And Friday duke and I will be taking a short little drive to spend the rest of our long weekend here...

Cody surprised me by coming home early on Thursday night. It was so great to spend the weekend with him. We exchanged gifts and went to dinner at Chili's (our fav spot) to celebrate our anniversary a day late. It was a wonderful evening.

I've been begging him for a new pair of running shoes since my other ones were getting a little worn and weren't the most comfortable pair. So my sweetie bought me these AMAZING ones. I LOVE them and I've already broken them in :)

I had the bright idea (actually it was my moms) to buy him a radar detector for his truck, since he'll be on the road so much. So far.. so good.. no tickets. Let's hope it stays that way! I also got him a few new Jazz shirts with the new logo (which we love, btw) and the Larry Miller book "Driven" so he has something to entertain himself with because I know he must be so bored without me and duke :) and also because he is pretty much obsessed with anything jazz.

We had a FUN weekend together and we're already counting down the days until Labor Day weekend. We have some fun plans in mind. I hope your weekend was just as wonderful!

4 years ago today I married the most amazing guy in the world. I feel so lucky to have found him, he really is my best friend. I wish he were here today so we could celebrate this beautiful day together but at least I know he's still thinkin' of me from so far away...

I got back from lunch today and these were on my desk waiting for me. I can't wait until he's home again so we can party it up ha :) I love you Cody Jay. Thank you for being exactly who you are. 4 years down, FOREVER to go!

Wow, where do I even start? Cody has been with his company now for 5 years and he absolutely loves his job and what he does. He's in the road/highway construction business and we have been very lucky to have him working so close to home the last 5 years. But the time has finally come where he has been assigned to an out of town job. It's a short one, anything longer and I would be going with him, but he has to rebuild 3 seperate bridges in the Teton Mountains. We've known about this job for a while now but it really has snuck up on us and this weekend we moved him up there. He will be coming home at least every weekend and probably more often than that. Our 4 year anniversary is on Wednesday and since we knew most likely he wouldn't be here for it, we tried to spend some good quality time together this weekend. Friday we actually took a quick trip to Wendover with our good friends and had a blast.

Here's Devre and I. Saturday we drove home just to re-pack some bags and hit the road for Idaho. He will be working in Idaho. It's about ten minutes from Jackson Hole and I have to say it truly is the cutest little town you've ever seen. At least he's somewhere completely surrounded by beauty and some old town charm. I followed him up since I was the only one who would be returning on Sunday. It took us FOREVER to get there because he got to pull up this sweet load of work supplies.

We finally arrived and got to unload everything and by this time we were starving from being in the car all day and having nothing to eat so we drove through this little canyon (where his job is) to the other side in Jackson Hole for some dinner. These pictures don't do justice.

So beautiful. We had dinner Saturday night at Bubba's. My very FAVORITE bbq joint in all of Jackson, probably in all the world. It was delish. We all but licked our plates clean. We were completely worn out from the day so we headed back to his cabin for some R & R. Sunday we drove back into Jackson for some fun before I had to leave.

This picture is to show you that deer and elk are everywhere up there and I mean everywhere. On our way to dinner Saturday night it was dark and we ALMOST hit a deer. Like slammed on the brakes, 2 feet away close. Scared the living crap out of both of us. We were so shaken up I think we drove 20 miles per hour the rest of the way.

Here he is watching some tv. Before I left for home I drove him to where all his work supplies were so he could un-hitch his truck from the trailer.

Isn't he so cute? I have to say- I'm so proud to be his wife. He is such a hard worker and is so valued within his company and in these scary days I'm very grateful for that security. I know they love him almost as much as I do.

Getting ready for another long day in the car. It was worth every second I got to spend with him though and I can't wait until he's home again. I missed him as soon as I pulled away. I'm sorry for the cheesiness in this post but I'm really going to miss having him around all the time. I know it's temporary and for obvious reasons I'm not going to be posting too much about it. I just hope he can finish up the job up there and get home. I love you Cody. The last 4 years have been so much fun and I can't wait for all the fun, exciting things ahead. Thank you for being the BEST husband in the world and for treating me so good. I'm lucky to have you.

A couple of weeks ago, I surprised Cody with tickets to see our favorite comedian CHELSEA HANDLER. She just happened to be coming to town to perform at Abravanel Hall and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to see her live. I wanted to wait to give him the tickets, but I am horrible at keeping secrets, especially from him so I gave them to him the same day I bought them and he was SO excited! We made a night of it by going down early and having dinner at the Olive Garden (my favorite place ever!) then walking over to the show.

I wanted pictures with this cut out and see this creeper man behind me? He was guarding it and taking his job very seriously. He told me on a few occasions that I could NOT touch it. Okay, dude.. got it.

The show was great, she did not disappoint! On our way home we stopped for ice cream to top the night off. We had such a good time, it was nice to get out just the two of us for a fun night together!

Went to see this CUTE movie this weekend, I loved every single minute of it.

Is it okay for me to be in love with Zac Efron? He's old enough, right? I never realized the crush I had until I saw this movie. (Of course, I think my hubby is much hotter.)

I had good intentions this weekend and even brought our camera with us everywhere we went, but I guess we were having TOO much FUN to take any pictures. So- this is one of those boring posts without em! We've been so busy this summer, definitely busier than most. It's been exhausting but so worth it! Friday we got to go down to Salt Lake for a family BBQ and to visit with Cody's favorite cousin Chance (who has been traveling the world and is now in Lexington, Kentucky for work.) It was sooo good to see him, we don't get to as much as we would like. We love you Chance and can't wait for our trip to Kentucky to see you! Saturday we spent the day laying by the pool and then at the Ogden Rodeo later that night. We sat with Cody's dad in his box seats and had the BEST view, we LOVE the rodeo! Sunday we were lucky enough to go boating with Cody's aunt and uncle down at Utah Lake. We wakeboarded, layed out on the boat, munched on some treats while listening to some good ol' country music and just had a great time. I think we have both seen a little more sun than we probably should have and our house has been neglected but we wouldn't have it any other way. That's what Summer is about, right? We're already looking forward to a much needed relaxing weekend, Cody said we have to stay indoors-movie weekend possibly?
On another note.. our 4 year anniversary is next month! I can't believe it's been 4 years! We're debating on going away somewhere for a few nights or going skydiving. What do you think??

ELeCtriC lAkE

This past weekend we took a little camping trip to Electric Lake with some of Cody's family and some friends. Carter and Dev came with us too and we had so much fun! We got up there Friday afternoon and set up camp. We spent the evening hanging out and sitting around the campfire. Saturday Cody had the bright idea to hike the mountain surrounding our camp so Cody, Carter, Devre and I headed up. Let's just say it was a little harder than it looked. What a great workout! We didn't stop until we got to the top though and the view was beautiful, we also saw so many deer up close. It was pretty amazing.

Brett and Cindy brought their boat up, along with Cody's aunt and uncle so we had two boats up there to take out anytime we wanted to play or go fishing.

We had a blast on this late night fishing trip, but unfortunately didn't catch anything.

Of course I forgot the camera when Cody was out on the kneeboard and wakeboard but he did great, as usual!

All weekend long Devre and I got a lot of crap from everybody, especially Carter and Cody for not getting in the water. So Sunday before we left we gave up and got in. It was freezing and I was afraid the fish would bite my toes, ha but it really was a lot of fun..

The water literally took my breath away when I jumped in.. brrrr!

I haven't been on a wakeboard in a really long time so it was fun to get back up there.. and you can bet I'm still feeling it today :) It was a great weekend of fishing (even though we didn't catch much) boating, sitting around the fire and making smores, eating (isn't the food always great when your camping?) and just enjoying the company of friends and family. I didn't get pictures of everyone but we had a pretty big crowd and there was never a dull moment.

Summer is the best!
